Welcome to Mayor Narelle Sharpe’s Website
Thank you for visiting my website. I am honoured to once again represent Moonee Valley as Mayor for 2014-2015.
I am a staunch independent Councillor and am not aligned to any political party.
I have grown up in Moonee Valley, was schooled locally and have worked within the municipality for the last 15 years. I love the Moonee Valley area and am honoured to be a Councillor and Mayor for the 2014-2015 year.
My Portfolio is Family, Aged, Disability and Youth, however I also have a keen interest in Traffic and Transportation. I am also a Director/Board Member of the Bully Zero Australia Foundation. This Foundation is a local organisation that tackles the issue of bullying, in all it’s forms.
Consultation with residents on all issues that may affect you must be a priority of Council. We need your input to provide the information we need to make responsible decisions. I will continue to ensure you, our residents, are consulted.
Moonee Valley has a lot of big issues to tackle now and into the future. We are a municipality that is impacted by the effects of showgrounds, racecourses, airports, a freeway and a potential tunnel. I don’t believe there is another municipality in Victoria that is affected to this degree by such large scale external influences. It is imperative that the community is aware and engaged on these issues, to ensure our decisions are based on what our community wants to see, now and into the future.
Please continue to contact me with any issue, big or small. I am more than happy to listen and offer my assistance. You can also follow my day to day activities on Facebook or Twitter (links are at the top of the page), or sign up to this website to receive my blog entries sent to you as an email.
